Staff welfare

All the trekking crew does a hard work. Anyone who has trekked in Bhutan before should tell you that their strength, skill and stamina are incredible. We take welfare of our trek staff very seriously and we do our best to ensure that all our staff are treated well. Besides, we also make sure that all the horses are taken well care of. Our staff is paid more than standard wage immediately after completion of trip and tips distributed in a fair and transparent manner. Horses are not made to carry more than what they can carry and ensure that they are well fed on trek.

We make sure that the staff have proper gear and equipment to handle the mountain. Their clothing, sleeping bags and tents are sufficiently warm and waterproof. They are also adequately fed nutritious meals with their preferred local foods.

Charity

Sharing is loving. We believe that what we earn should also go to the community. We provide major chunk of money to the government as a levy, which in turn pays off for our free education and health. We do not own large fleet of cars but we hire from locals. We use local accommodations and buy local foods from the villagers.

We are a supporter of a Dharma House in a remote village. The company is a full sponsor of supporting and feeding 15 monks of a Dharma House. We have been doing it since five years.

Financial security

As tourism in Bhutan is highly regulated by the government, you have a great financial security. Government of Bhutan has made an official arrangement with corporate banks in Bhutan to transfer tour payment directly to the account of the Government. This is to ensure that the local agents carry out the trips successfully. The account of your local agent is being tied to government. And the money that you transfer to them will go directly to the Government’s account. It will be released to your local agent only after the completion of your trip.

Friendly cancellation policy

Bhutan Travelers is the only tour company in Bhutan that has friendly tour cancellation policy. Our judiciously framed our cancellation policy enables you to re-coup your money in the event of cancellation of your tour. If the tour is cancellation due to reasons beyond your control we refund your money.

Cancellation policy

Tour cancellation: Tour cancelled more than 31 days from the date of travel on genuine reason, full payment will be refunded with less transfer fee.

For the tour cancelled less than 31 days from your date of travel, full payment will be refunded with less 5% administrative and wire fee.

If your trip duration gets cut for any reason such as flight delays due to weather or missed connections, no refund will be made for the days lost – because by this time we will already have had incurred the expenses for the hotels and logistics.

Flight cancellation policy: Air tickets cancelled more than 31 days from your date of travel, full airfare will be refunded with less US $25 administrative and wire fee. Cancellation made less than 31 days from the date of travel, 50% of the cost will be refunded with less US $25 administrative and wire fee.

No refund will be made for “no show” at the airport.
Tickets actually bought for two ways but used only one way, refund for the unused route is not permissible.
