Chele La Group Tour

Chele La Trek is the shortest trek available. This trek is best for those who wish to experience wilderness adventure in short span. Going above 3500 meters, you can see the beautiful views of the Himalayan ranges. The trek begins in Haa valley, a remote valley in west Bhutan. Haa is a picturesque valley just recently opened to tourists. The trek is full of surprises, taking you through Chele La pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan.

Day 1: Fly to Paro
Fly into Paro, the world’s most exhilarating plane ride. We’ll meet you at the airport and take you to your accommodation where you will meet your travel friends. Today you will visit the Rinpung Dzong which literally translates to “fortress of the heap of jewels”. Evening is at your leisure.

Day 2: Acclimatization Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, the most popular and magnificent monastery in Bhutan. The hike helps you acclimatize for the next day’s trek. The monastery is located at 3000 meters, about 900 meters above the Paro valley. Drive from Paro to Haa, where your trek will start.

Day 3: Haa Valley to Sagala (trek begins)
6 km, 3.5 hours, Ascent 450m, Camp Alt. 3150m
The trek begins today. Drive to the trek start point, meet your trekking crew and start walking through upaved motor roads. Pass by villages and yak herder’s camps. You will ascent gradually all the way to the campsite at an altitude of 3150 meters.

Day 4: Sagala to Ningula
9 km, 6 hours, Ascent 700m, Camp Alt. 3850m
From the camp, start climbing for 30 minutes to reach the Sagala Pass at 3550 meters. In clear weather, the view of Mt. Jumolhari is superb. Keep right and after several ascents and descent, you will be on a ridge that offers great views of Haa Valley.

Day 5: Ningula to Chele La to Thimphu
11 km, 6 hours, Ascent 500m, Descent 360m
Today is the last day of the trek. Descend through rhododendron forests, and meadows adorned with stone cairns. Do not miss the beautiful panoramic view of Paro valley and Haa Valley. Trek further to Chele La Pass at 3990 meters where your car will be waiting to transfer to Thimphu.

Day 6: Explore Thimphu
You will explore the capital of Bhutan – Thimphu. Visit the giant Buddha statue, the weekend market, the School of Arts and Crafts, and the Bhutan Postal Office to make your personalized stamps. You can also explore on your own and even shop for some souvenirs.

Day 7: Thimphu to Paro, fly out.
Your 7-day Bhutan trip comes to an end today. You will drive back to Paro from Thimphu, which is an hour’s drive. Our representative will bid you farewell
